An economic superpower but still a fragmented and less influential actor in the realm of world politics, the European Union has taken steps to increase its strategic leverage. Although each Member State carefully protects its own sovereignty in the matter of security and defense, the European institutions aim to gradually advance a unitary stance. Due to the regionalization of the international arena and the emergence of trans-national challenges, the European Union will be increasingly called to think and act as a global player.
In this section, EUE will collect opinions and perspective on the EU external posture, debating issues on the common foreign and security policy, the enlargement process, the implemented regional policies, and the provided humanitarian and development assistance. To this end, we openly encourage the publication of well-researched analyses and commentaries.
