The unrest across the MENA region has constantly fostered the migration pressure on the European borders. Despite immigration policies widely vary among the Member States, the management of migration flows is undoubtedly a Pan-European issue, which requires a unanimous commitment. Through the lens of Frontex, Brussels is in charge of devising a comprehensive framework, balancing the security measures with a human rights-based approach that is rooted in the normative identity of Europe.
EUE will act as a permanent observatory on the immigration policies implemented by the European States and their harmonization at the supranational level, with a particular attention to the issues of the refugee and asylum seekers reception, the contrast to human trafficking, and the domestic integration policies. Therefore, we will update this section with national reports and accurate fact sheets.
