The judicial branch of the European Union preserves core values that gave life to the European integration project. Among the most important ones, the respect for the rule of law, the human rights, and the principles of equality, democracy and freedom – which are declared by the founding treaties as the true source of the closer union among the people of Europe. Thereby, the EU bodies’ regulations and directives exert a crucial impact in all the policy areas where the Union has exclusive or shared competence.
EUE aims to monitor how the Brussels legislation’s entry in force in the domestic judicial systems and how its enforcement affect them. Due to the complexity of the matter, EUE’s purpose is to augment the European citizens’ awareness of the Union functioning.
